Life Story for Dale Sallans

Dale  Sallans
Sallans, Dale Ivan – After a brief, yet courageous battle with cancer, Dale passed away peacefully with his loving family by his side, at Grand River Hospital, on Saturday, April 4, 2009 at the age of 53.
Loving husband of Brooke Sallans (nee Mills) of Kitchener, for 37 years. Cherished father of LeeAnne Trussler (nee Sallans) and her husband Darren of Monkton and Matthew Sallans and his wife Jenny (nee Weiss) of Ayr. Adored Poppi of Marissa, Maison and Bracken Trussler and Dayna and Kyle Sallans. Loving son of Nellie Switzer (nee Winger) and her husband Bruce of Corbyville. Dear brother of Jim Sallans and his wife Elaine of New Dundee, Dennis Sallans and his wife Vicki of Ayr and Michael Sallans of Listowel. Fondly remembered by his nieces, nephews, in-law’s and many friends. Predeceased by his father Roy Sallans.
Dale had a passion for hang-gliding, photography and of course, his grandchildren.
Dale’s family will receive relatives and friends on Tuesday, April 7th from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick St., Kitchener, 519-749-8467. Visitation will continue on Wednesday, April 8, 2009 at Rosebank Brethren In Christ Church, 1434 Huron Rd. in Wilmot Township, from 10 a.m. until the time of Dale’s funeral service to celebrate his life at 11 a.m. Interment at Rosebank Cemetery followed by a reception in the church.
Memorial donations to the Grand River Hospital Palliative Care Unit would be appreciated (cards available at the funeral home).
