Daniel was the force behind many "lunch-bunch" gatherings. One of the more ceremonial ones was raising the flag at the late Phil McCloran's estate in Ayr. Dan would unfurl the flag as I piped it up. After a fine lunch he would get his ukulele out for some tunes on the veranda. Dan and I worked together at Conestoga college for five years. He was always fun to be with and had a genuine concern for the progress of each and every student. Dan liked to eat. To that end he often organized lunch gatherings in different restaurants sometimes out of town for the "lunch-bunch" group. He will be missed indeed. Our condolences to Gwen and family.
