Hattie Neff, 92, Muscatine, died March 9, 2015, at Lutheran Living, Muscatine.

Per Hattie's request, there will be no visitation. Graveside services by Pastor Don Swanson will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, March 12, at Muscatine Memorial Park. Nichols Life Tribute Funeral and Memorial Services, Muscatine is caring for the arrangements.

Hattie was born in Neulandermoor, Germany, on May 1, 1922, to Dietrich Schlichting and Katharina Drewes Schlichting (Allbee). She immigrated to the United States with her family when she was one-year-old. She became a naturalized United States citizen on March 31, 1939.

Hattie worked in the button industry most of her life, starting as a child sewing buttons on cards; and then as an adult, she worked in a local button factory. She attended First Baptist Church in Muscatine.
Survivors include her niece, Judy (Campbell) Tranmer of Iowa City; nephew Ron Campbell of Destin, Florida; and niece Janet Bunn of Muscatine.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers Hans Fulgrabe and Clarence Schlichting; and her sisters Elizabeth Campbell and Naomi Bunn.
