Obituary for Stanley L. Golis

Stanley L. Golis, 92, formerly of Shenango Stop Road, passed away the morning of April 16, 2018 at UPMC Jameson Hospital. Born on September 3, 1925 in New Castle, he was the son of the late Louis and Sophia Budzowski Golis. Surviving is his beloved wife of 65 years, the former Carol Donley, whom he married on February 14, 1952.

Stanley retired as a tax auditor for the State of Pennsylvania. He served his country as member of the U.S. Army Air Corps. Stanley was a member of St. Joseph the Worker Church. He enjoyed golfing and taking care of his property and yard. Stanley will always be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother and a wonderful man who will be missed by all who knew him.

In addition to his wife, Stanley is survived by his son, Stanley W. Golis of Soldotna, AK; sister, Joan Golis of New Castle; grandchildren, Stanley C. Golis, Lea Ann Golis, Kathleen Golis, and Zachary Golis; and five great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter-in-law, Cynthia Golis, brother, Louis Golis and Henry Golis, and infant sister, Cecelia Golis.

Visitation will be held Wednesday from 1:00pm to 3:00pm at Ed and Don DeCarbo Funeral Home and Crematory 941 S Mill St. Blessing services will be conducted Wednesday at 3:00pm at the funeral home, officiated by Father Zachary Galiyas of St. Joseph the Worker Church.

Entombment will take place in Parkside Mausoleum.
