Obituary for Marilyn Ronk

Marilyn Ronk, 88 years of age, passed away peacefully at The Pines in Poughkeepsie on December 8, 2017. Marilyn was born to Marguerite and Howard Ronk on July 26, 1929 at St. Francis Hospital. Marilyn was lovingly cared for later in life by her neighbors and friends, Jane and Fedele Fiore, Betty Bakker, Cathy Tomasko and caregiver Barbara Campbell. Marilyn was a lifelong resident of Poughkeepsie, graduated from Poughkeepsie High School and attended Casanovia College.
She was most thoughtful and kind, always remembering her friends on their birthdays by giving small parties for them. She really liked entertaining her friends in her home. Marilyn was a loyal member of the Poughkeepsie Reformed Church, attending worship and special events on a regular basis. She was a member of the church handbell choir and traveled with the choir to Exeter, England to the International Handbell Festival in 1988. Following the festival, she participated in playing concerts on a tour of England playing the bells in many of the largest cathedrals in England including York Minster. Marilyn was much appreciated for her loving, thoughtful nature. She loved music and playing her organ at home and she loved her kitty cat. She painted an extensive collection of ceramic figurines and enjoyed oil painting.
Calling hours will be held at The Poughkeepsie Reformed Church, 70 Hooker Ave, Poughkeepsie, NY from 10 - 11AM on Thursday, December 14, 2017. The Funeral Service will follow at 11AM at the Church. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Poughkeepsie Reformed Church Organ Fund. Arrangements are under the direction of the William G.
