Charles Lee Kernell died Friday, November 3, 2017 at the age of 88 years old. The son of Virgil Charles and Callie (Worthy) Kernell, C.L. was born on August 22, 1929 in Hugo, Oklahoma. He was very proud of his service in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. Charles retired from Wilson Foods after 35 years of dedicated service and also worked for Western Heights Schools for many years. C.L. was an active member of Penn South Church of Christ. He was an avid bowler on the church bowing league for decades. C.L. especially loved professional wrestling and baseball. He really enjoyed watching the Texas Rangers and the Houston Astros play baseball. C.L. was a devoted husband and caregiver to his wife, especially during her illness.
C.L. was preceded in death by:
• His parents
• His loving wife of 60 years, Betty Kernell
Survivors include:
• His Children, Tina Kernell-Lee and Terry Kernell and wife Danielle
• Brother, Curtis Kernell
• Sister, Ruth Boan
• Grandchildren, Caroline and Emily
• Many other relatives including nieces, nephews, cousins, church family and friends
