Grady Burks entered Heaven’s gates on Thursday, October 12, 2017 at the age of 90. The son of Wyatt Alden and Pearl (Blackstock) Burks, Grady was born Sept 7, 1927 in Henderson, Texas. Grady honorably served his country in the United States Navy, having bravely fought during the World War II. Grady married his one true love, Julia Annette Lemley on July 7, 1945 and together shared more than 72 years of marriage and family. Grady provided a warm and loving home for his family by working as a firefighter for the Oklahoma City Fire Department and was often times the driver for the routes. He retired after 20 years of dedicated service. In his spare time, Grady enjoyed RVing, but most of all being with his family whom he loved so dearly. He was a longtime member of Southern Hills Baptist Church where he was a Deacon. Grady was known for his work ethic and will be fondly remembered for his Irish Heritage and love of God, Country and Church. He will be deeply missed.
Grady was preceded in death by his:

Five Brothers;
Two Sisters;
Granddaughter, Tisha Abolt.
He leaves cherished memories with his loving:
Wife of 72 years, Julia Burks;
Daughter, Diane Abolt and her husband, Russ;
Daughter, Gay Lynn Haley and her husband, Cleve;
Son, Wyatt Burks and his wife, Pam;
8 Grandchildren: Tina, Tamiko, Tiffani, Heather, Chris, Jenny, Jessica and Aaron;
11 Great Grandchildren: Bryson, Blair, Laney, Lexi, Pierce, Mason, Tyler, Katie, Chloe, Audrey and Ryker;
And many extended family and friends.
