Dear Anne and Chris, it was with a heavy heart that I learned of Ron's passing and I send my deepest condolences to you in this difficult time. The times we all spent together 'back in the day' as they say, were really quite remarkable, often too darn funny, sometimes a bit scary and Ron always seemed to be in the middle of it all, a whirling dirvish of intellect, humour and imagination. There was never a dull moment and never a shortage of projects or expeditions. My his mind really was alive and fruitfull, if at times a bit 'different' I am so glad that I had the opportunity to pass so many years as his fellow traveller and friend and have always remembered his with great fondness and amazement. The world has lost a bit of magic with his passing. My profound condolences to you. Much love across the miles. Ric
