Janet L.  Kirkwood
Janet L. Kirkwood, 72, of New Castle, passed away the afternoon of April 13, 2016 at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital. Born on August 8, 1943 in New Castle, she was the daughter of the late Frank L. and Betty Jane Baldwin Stafford. On February 26, 1959, she married her beloved husband, Wayne A. Kirkwood Sr., and the two spent over 51 years together until he preceded her in death on April 15, 2011.

In her earlier years, Janet worked for Hill View Manor. She later retired from the Environmental Services department of Jameson Memorial Hospital. She was a member of Mt. Hermon Presbyterian Church. Janet enjoyed swimming and visiting casinos, and she also loved reading her Bible. Janet's greatest joy came from camping, fishing, and spending time with her family and friends.

Janet is survived by her children, Wayne Kirkwood Jr. and wife Michele of Gibsonia, PA, Bruce Kirkwood and wife Charlene of New Castle, and Frank Kirkwood of Harlansburg, PA; sisters, Catherine Ritchie, Jane Miller, and Jean Miles, all of New Castle; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her sister, Debbie Bodisch.

Visitation will be held Friday 5:00pm to 8:00pm at Ed and Don DeCarbo Funeral Home and Crematory 941 S Mill St. A service will be conducted Saturday at 10:00am at Mt. Hermon Church, officiated by Pastor Marsha Parrish.

Interment will take place in Mt. Hermon Cemetery.
