Paula Sue Bodner, 59, of Fort Smith, Arkansas passed away on Tuesday, March 2, 2021 in Fort Smith. She was born on October 5, 1961 in Fort Smith and was a lifetime member of Mountainburg Presbyterian Church. After graduating from Mountainburg High School in 1979 she received her Bachelor’s Degree in Education from the College of the Ozarks in Clarksville, AR. Paula loved to travel and was privileged to spend several years teaching English in the countries of Egypt, Turkey, Columbia and Puerto Rico. When she returned to Arkansas she started teaching English as a second language at Northside High School in Fort Smith until she retired in 2019. Paula loved her students. In 2010 she was awarded the Golden Apple Award from the Fort Smith Classroom Teachers Association.
Paula is survived by her cousins, Linda Matthews of Mountainburg and Mary Casey of Rudy; many loving second cousins and several loyal and caring friends.
A private family memorial service will be held at a later date. She will be buried in Conley Cemetery in her family’s plot.
Paula loved animals, especially her cats; making a donation to any pet rescue program of you choice would be a wonderful way to honor her life.
