Obituary for Greg Robert Beyerle

Greg R “Oats” Beyerle, 64, of Van Buren, AR passed away on February 15, 2021 at a local hospital. He was born on April 11, 1956 in South Bend, Indiana to Robert C. & Shirley R. (Holmes) Beyerle. He was a 1974 graduate of Van Buren High School. He began his 25+ year career in the printing business beginning at The Courier (later The Press Argus Courier) and ending at Transcript. In 2001, he began working for the City of Van Buren Street Department, and was currently one of two Traffic Technician’s. He was always willing to lend a hand where ever needed, without question for the City.
Oats was a member of B.A.C.A. International River Valley Chapter of AR for the past 19 years and held the position of B.A.C.A. International Merchandise Officer at the time of his death.
Greg had a kind heart and soul and those that knew him, knew they would at some point would get a taste of his witty, sarcastic humor and compassionate spirit. Family was always first and he showed that daily with his children, grandchildren, immediate family and his extended B.A.C.A. family.
As Oats would say “This isn’t good-bye - This is see you later.”
Greg was preceded in death by his father, Robert, and his mother, Shirley and his mother-in-law Mary Ferguson. He is survived by his wife Connie of the home; one daughter, Carrie Kilgore and husband Billy of Barling AR; one son, Sam Beyerle and wife Ashley of Van Buren AR; two grandchildren, Skylar and Dawson Beyerle; two brothers, David and wife Debbie Beyerle of Barling AR, and Mike and wife Sharanna Beyerle of Batesville AR, brother-in-law, Barry and wife Landi Ferguson of Van Buren AR, as well as several aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Cremation will be under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home with services to be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations in his honor to be made to B.A.C.A. River Valley Chapter, CASA of Crawford County or the Hamilton House of Fort Smith.
