Emma Lou Nelson, 86, of the Turner Community passed away on Wednesday, February 3, 2021 at a local hospital. She was a homemaker, of the Baptist faith, past member of the DAVA chapter 42 in Alma and a member of the Eastern Star. She loved listening to country radio and spending time with her family, especially the grandchildren. Emma was born October 30, 1934 in Oklahoma to the late Holly and Nora (Dean) Cousins. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Adrian Nelson; sons, Kenneth and Chad Nelson; sisters, Hallie Striplin, Lila “Jeep” Barret and Roma McCreary and brothers, Grady, Gene, Gilbert and Carlton “Buck” Cousins.

Graveside service will be 11:00 AM Monday, February 8, 2021 at Pope Cemetery under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home of Alma. The service will be livestreamed on the Ocker-Putman Facebook page.

Survivors include daughters, Luanna Wise and husband Roger of Mulberry and Misty Childers and husband Mark of Alma; sons, Rolland Nelson of Alma, Bill Nelson of Mulberry and Bruce Nelson and wife Shanna of Cedarville; sister Lela Wallin; seven grandchildren, Chay Kee, Cody Wise, Taylor Nelson, Kelsey Nelson, William Nelson III, Denman Heath Nelson and Lindsey Nelson; two step grandchildren, Monica Kylberg and Michell Acosta and numerous great and great great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be William Nelson III, William Nelson IV, Cody Wise, Denman Heath Nelson, Bruce Nelson, Rolland Nelson and William Nelson, Jr.
