Christopher Abiodun Lajuwomi was born and raised in Lagos, Nigeria to Thompson and Sarah Lajuwomi on January 1st, 1951. He was the first of three children. He grew up in a Christian home. Chris was a successful athlete in high school and college in Nigeria. He was nicknamed “Castro Jet” by his friends for exceptional display of speed on the track. He ran the 100 and 4x100 for the Nigerian National Team. Chris courted Comfort Lajuwomi and they were married on April 25th,1975. They remained married for 28 years until Comfort passed away August 2nd, 2003. They were blessed with two beautiful children son Oluwaseyi Lajuwomi and daughter Oluwabukola Lajuwomi. Chris suffered a stroke in 2008 and spent the rest of his days in Cedar Creek Nursing home until he was called for eternal glory on January 27th, 2021. Christopher graduated from University of Oklahoma with Bachelors degree of Science in Business Administration follow by two Master degrees in Human Relations and Family Counseling. He was gainfully employed by DHS until 1998, when he successfully opened his own business, Progressive Counseling Services until his retirement in 2005. Chris was a devoted Christian, who was a strong member of the (ACF) African Christian Fellowship in Oklahoma. He enjoyed spending time with his family, playing soccer and basketball with his friends, watching sporting events, singing, dancing and a comedian. He was a big fan of the University of Oklahoma Football and athletics (Go Sooners), Manchester United, Dallas Cowboys and Houston Rockets. Not only was Chris a great father and husband, but he was also great man who put others first before himself. He touched so many lives in his 70 + years. Chris was known for his humor, kindness and generosity that was infectious to everybody he encountered. He believed everybody should have happiness and laughter in their life and it’s not surprising he entered the field of work he did in his life. He passed on the glory and love to his two children and other family members, brother Paul Lajuwomi; sister Iyabo Lajuwomi; brother-in-law Paul Babatunde Ruwase and wife Wunmi Ruwase; sister-in-law Irene Mojisola Rufus; sister-in-law Mofoluwa Amiyan; niece Dr. Tokunbo Fashola; nephew Dr. Tunji Ruwase; niece Dr. Tobi Ruwase; nephew Thompson Lajuwomi; niece Dami Lajuwomi and niece Lolade Lajuwomi. Along with many host of other relatives and friends to numerous to mention. May you rest in peace with the Lord our God, Christopher Abiodun Lajuwomi because you are loved.
