Obituary for Walter "Walt" Morris

Walter “Walt” James Morris went to be with Our Lord & Savior Jesus Christ on January 28, 2021 at the age of 81. He was born to in West Chester, Pennsylvania on October 1, 1939 to David & Katherine (McKinney) Morris. Walt graduated in 1958 from West Chester High School, where he met the love of his life Bonnie. Walt was born a salesman, and after graduation, he began working for the Coatesville Record, which was the newspaper in West Chester, PA. Following that he began working at Town and Country in sales and marketing. He later worked for Gessner products, where he sold coasters and ashtrays. In 1970 he moved the family to work as the VP of Sales at Seiberling Latex Products. In 1979, when Sieberling Latex closed, Walt purchased the medical division and started his own company Morris Latex Products Inc, which produced anesthesia breathing bags. This was a career that lasted 39 years and allowed him to provide for his family. In 2008 after many expansions and an international acquisition of companies in Poland and Mexico, he sold the entire business to Medline Industries and retired continuing Angel investing, and assisting his friends in business opportunities. Walt continued his lifelong membership in the First West Chester Fire Department where he started as a volunteer after leaving high school.
On March 26, 1960, he married his true love, Bonnie Moore, and the two established a family. In 1970, the family relocated to Oklahoma City.
Walt and Bonnie have been faithful members of Capitol Hill Assembly of God Church for over 25 years.
He was an Oklahoma City Councilman representing south OKC and was very proud that he was elected into the position. Walt also held a membership as a Master Mason, was a member of the Guthrie Scottish Rite, the India Shrine and also enjoyed being a Jester. He loved to play golf and spend time with his family and friends.
Walt was very proud of his life’s accomplishments. He and Bonnie opened their home to foster over 360 babies over a period of 25 years. For Walt nothing was more important to him than his own family. Spending time with his 7 grandchildren and his 5 great-grandchildren always put a smile on his face, and warmth in his heart. He will be forever remembered as a faithful husband, a loving father, a proud Pop-Pop and a doting Great-Pop-Pop. Walt was an exceptional man and a friend to many.

He is survived by his:
Wife of 60 years, Bonnie;
Daughter, Terrie Donnelly & husband Clinton;
Sons: David Morris & his wife Diane; Tim Morris & his wife Cheryl;
7 grandchildren: Melissa & husband Colby Sandburg; Leslie Donnelly; Hillary Shatley; Emma Morris; Kimberly Donnelly; Colin Morris; & Sara Donnelly
5 great-grandchildren: Madeline Sandburg; Braxton Shatley; Caden Sandburg; Amelia Shatley; & Octavia Donnelly. As well as nieces, nephews, extended family and numerous friends, all of whom will miss him dearly.
