Obituary for Patricia Diane Mullenix (Norman)

Memorial Services will be 1:00 PM Monday, January 4, 2021 at Southern Hills Baptist Church.

Patricia Diane Mullenix was welcomed into the loving arms of her Lord and Savior on Monday, December 28, 2020 at the age of 63. The daughter of Robert and Mary (Kilgour) Norman, Patricia was born on September 14, 1957 in Springfield, Massachusetts. Patricia married her one true love, Eric Leeroy Mullenix. Together they raised their 3 children in a loving home. Patricia was an Oklahoma City Police Officer who was well known to many as a highly respected Police Officer and an accomplished firearms instructor. At one time, she was the only full-time, female instructor in the state of Oklahoma. Outside of work, Patricia was a dedicated member of the Oklahoma Eastern Star, serving as Past Matron for Harmony Chapter and Past Grand Adah for the State of Oklahoma. She was also very involved with the International Order of the Rainbow for Girls, serving as Past Mother Advisor for Capitol Hill Assembly and Past State Mother Advisor for Oklahoma. She was a second mother to many young women who cherished her advice and counseling through their youth and into young adulthood. She treated the young ladies in the organization like her own and was beloved. In Patricia’s spare time, she enjoyed being creative and loved expressing herself through sewing and embroidery, painting and creating other works of beauty. She loved the ocean; including scuba diving, collecting seashells on the beaches of Sanibel Island and basking in the sun. She enjoyed spending time with her family, watching sappy hallmark movies with her granddaughters, consistently catching more fish than her husband at the lake and being the matriarch for the Mullenix family. Patricia was preceded in death by her mother, Mary (Kilgour) Norman. She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her loving husband, Eric Mullenix; children, Erica Mullenix Dirickson and husband, Clay, Roy Mullenix and wife, Allyson and Luke Mullenix; granddaughters, Alexa Bachelor, Cypress Dirickson, Kota Dirickson and Raylee Mullenix; brothers, Wayne Norman and Bobby Norman; sister, Connie Brenner; nieces, Stevee Kennard and Jaymee Norman-West; nephews, Devin and Dustin Brenner; and more friends than can be mentioned.
Patricia’s favorite Bible Verse was Isiah 41:10~
“Do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”

In closing, Pat Mullenix was a woman of versatility. She was many different rolls to many different people. Her family and friends each have been given a unique piece of her. Remember to cherish the pieces of herself that we have been blessed to keep.
