A Celebration of Life service will be planned for the Spring/Summer of 2021.

Helen Colleen (Pool) Cates, age 85, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, passed away while surrounded by family on December 8, 2020. She was a 1954 graduate of Haileyville High School in Haileyville, Oklahoma. She received her degree in Medical Technology and was a fellow of the International College of Medical Technologists. She served in this capacity from 1977 through 1986. Helen was a member of the South United Pentecostal Church of Oklahoma City and served in many roles. She lived her life for Jesus and her sons. She never met a stranger and showed love and compassion for all. She remained a faithful saint of the Lord, loved her church family, and longed to make Heaven her home.

Helen is survived by her children, Jack (Trudi) Cates of Bentonville, AR, Jimmie Cates of Oklahoma City, OK, and Jeffrey (Rhoda) Cates of Cottage Grove, MN; grandchildren, Denae (Dathan) Wilson, Ashley (Peter) Hamby, Lauren Cates, Kaylee Cates, and Jeffrey Cates, Jr.; brother, Harold (Gail) Pool of McAlester, OK; nephew Chris Pool, and sister-in-law, Lynn Poole of Bethany, OK.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert Cates, previously of Pittsburg, OK., parents, William Lafayette and Lola Gladys (Scott) Pool of McAlester, OK; and her brother, William Harvey Poole of McAlester, OK.

The family would like to express our sincere thanks for the wonderful care and love given by Frontier Hospice in Moore, Oklahoma, and the loving staff at Broadway Living Center in Lexington, Oklahoma.
