Obituary for Peggy Ann Parks (Jones)
Peggy Ann Jones Parks, 83 of Van Buren passed away on Monday, December 7, 2020 in a local nursing home. She was a homemaker, member of First Assembly of God in Van Buren were she was mother of the year, a greeter and worked in the Women’s Ministry. She was a 1955 graduate of Van Buren High School, attended Draughons Business School in Fort Smith and then worked at the Van Buren Coop, Staton Jewelry and finished her career in banking. She was a member of Crawford County Hospital Auxiliary and a member of the 188th old guard auxiliary, and a Gideon. She was preceded in death by her husband Art; her parents Ben and Myrtle (McCarthy) Jones.
She was survived by her daughter Phyllis Thompson and husband David of Van Buren; one son Butch Parks and wife Renee of Rose, Oklahoma; four grandchildren Brandon, Jessica, Emily and Trey; a bonus son James Boykin of Austin.
Graveside services will be 11AM, Thursday December 10, 2020 at Fort Smith National Cemetery under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home in Van Buren.
Pallbearers will be Brandon Parks, Trey Parks, David Thompson, Gonzo Hernandez,
James Boykin, and Brent Griffis.
Per ADH guidelines, attendees are asked to wear a mask and practice social distancing.
