Obituary for Betty L. Lennier (Bridges)

Betty L. Lennier, 92 of Van Buren went to be with her Savior Thursday, October 22, 2020 in her home. She was a retired bookkeeper for Sears with 25 years of service in Michigan. She was an accomplished pianist/organist, avid gardener, collector and known for her beautiful smile; a member of the Van Buren Garden Gate Garden Club. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Fort Smith. She was preceded in death by her husband, the love of her life, of 56 years Leslie B. “Pete” Lennier, in 2002; her parents, Harry and Victoria (Littlejohn) Bridges; two sisters, Esther Dolan and Mary Pollack; seven brothers, Paul, Vern, Frank, Carl, Charles, Billy and Harry Bridges.

Memorial service will be at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, October 29, 2020 at Ocker Memorial Chapel of Van Buren under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home.

She is survived by her daughter/caregiver, Nancy Lennier of Van Buren; daughter, Ava Stevens of Hixson, Tennessee; one son, Leslie E. Lennier; one brother, Bobby Bridges of Bonanza, Arkansas; seven grandchildren, but Blake Lennier of California, was more of a son and doted on her; three great grandchildren with Jonathan Lennier of Baton Rouge, Louisiana was about to make her a great great grandmother; numerous precious nieces and nephews, and Sean and Jasmine Rymer her guardian grandchildren.

The family wishes to extend a special thank you to Dr. Charles Jennings in Fort Smith as well as Heart of Hospice of Fort Smith and last but not least to Home Helpers Inc’s, Lisa Carlson, C.N.A., who was the caregiver we needed desperately.
