Obituary for Mary Magdalene Ross (Mokosak)
Mary M. Ross, 97, passed from this life on August 13, 2020. She was born in Chicago, IL. where she lived when she met her future husband, Bill. Bill was stationed in Chicago while serving in the U.S. Navy during WWII. Bill and Mary wed in 1946 and enjoyed the next 59 years together. You did not see one without the other. In 1950, Mary and Bill had their only child, Richard Ross.
Mary was a devout Catholic and shone as an example of the Christian faith. It was common for people to ask Mary to pray for them and she never forgot. Her family takes great comfort in knowing that Mary now is at peace with her Lord and Savior. She is once again reunited with her “Bill” as well as her family and friends.
Mary took great pride in her family and they were the center of her life. Being a grandparent was one of her and Bill’s greatest joys. They devoted as much of their time being with their grandson Brandon when he was growing up. She loved to watch him play sports and you could always hear her in the crowd. Her love and inspiration will be truly missed.
Mary is survived by her son, Richard and his wife Candace; her grandson, Brandon Ross and his wife Nicole who gave her great granddaughters, Sierra and Haley Ross. Mary was preceded in death by her parents; her siblings and her husband, Bill.
The family would like to express their gratitude to the entire staff of St. Ann’s.
A private Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Church of the Epiphany with interment in Resthaven Cemetery.
