Obituary for Bettye Fields (Sangster)

Bettye Sangster Fields of Fort Smith passed away Monday, July 20, 2020 in her home. She was a retired operations officer at First National Bank in Fort Smith. She was a member of St. Johns Episcopal Church, where she served as a Lay Eucharistic visitor and a volunteer of the Sack Lunch Outreach Ministry. During her lifetime she served in many capacities; board chairperson, of the American Heart Association, board member of (SCAN) Suspected Child Abuse & Neglect, a Lay Therapist, and a board member of Fort Smith fights Aids. She also worked as a Consultant for Regional Aids Interfaith Network in Little Rock, was on the Sparks Women’s Board as a volunteer, Peachtree Hospice as Treasurer for over eight years and a member of Methodist Village Auxiliary in Fort Smith. She was preceded in death by her husband Richard L. Fields.

She is survived by her brother Don Sangster of Van Buren; a number of cousins and wonderful friends.

Funeral services will be graveside 9A.M., Thursday on July 23, 2020 at Woodlawn Chapel in Fort Smith under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home in Van Buren.
