Obituary for Ernest Eugene Carver

Ernest Eugene Carver, 69, of Fort Smith, Arkansas passed away on Sunday, May 10, 2020 in a Fort Smith hospital. He was born in June 6, 1950 in Kansas City, Kansas to Arthur and Wilda (Catron) Carver. He was a retired line worker at Rheem. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Vietnam War and a member of Cavanaugh Free Will Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by a grandson Tony Messmer, five sisters and six brothers.
Mr. Carver may be viewed between 12PM and 5:00 PM on Thursday, May 14, 2020 at Ocker-Putman Funeral Home of Fort Smith. Burial at the U.S. National Cemetery will be private. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
He is survived by his wife Sheila Carver of the home; three daughters, Dana Robison and her husband Travis and Tonya Carver both of Fort Smith and Tiffany Massey and her husband Mark of Sallisaw, OK; a son, Vince Messmer and his wife Pam of Fort Smith; five sisters; three brothers; seven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
Memorial graveside service with be at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday August 12, 2020 at U.S. National Cemetery with full Military honors.
