Obituary for Xiu Yun Kuang

NORTHBOROUGH

Xiu Yun Kuang passed away at UMass Memorial Hospital on March 21, 2020 due to a sudden heart failure. She was a Northborough Mass resident for 18 years and loved the community.

Xiu Yun lived a healthy, independent and active life. She loved nature and visited many National Parks in America, such as, Grand Canyon, Zion, Yosemite, Niagara Falls, Haleakala, Yellowstone, and Death Valley. She always enjoyed the nature programs on TV, like National Geographic, Blue Planet, The National Parks, Planet Earth, Animal Planet … She hiked in her 80s, did an 8-mile trail to see the giant sequoias and was thrilled. She loved giant and ancient trees. She had visited Bristlecone Pine Forrest in California, some of the trees are 3,000 to 4,000 years old -- the world’s longest living non-clonal organism. She also visited the beautiful Banyan Tree on Maui.

She was born and lived on the Pacific coast and spent her senior years on the Atlantic coast. She became a US citizen in 2017. Xiu Yun was always kind, tolerating and friendly to everyone she came across.

She was survived by her three adult children, daughter in America, two sons in China and three grandchildren, one in America, one in Singapore and one in China.
