Obituary for Brenda Lanelle Nickell

Private Family Services will be held

On Wednesday, March 11, 2020 Brenda Lanelle Nickell went to her heavenly home into the arms of her blessed Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Forever reunited with her husband Nick and their daughter Rhonda. Mom had a servant’s heart. She was a compassionate caregiver to many, especially the elderly, helping with daily meals, housework, companionship and a multitude of other personal needs. Mom loved to dance and boy could she tear up the dance floor. Jitterbug, swing, you name it she could bust a move. And cook! Nobody could make biscuits from scratch like Mom. Unfortunately, she took that skill to her grave. She was an avid reader, especially a good mystery. She liked to watch Jeopardy. Partly because it challenged her mind and partly because “Alex Trebek is so handsome.” And talk about challenging your mind, Mom didn’t keep a contact list on her phone. She wanted to recall the numbers herself. But most of all, Mom really enjoyed studying The Word. She could quote scripture that would challenge the most educated clergy. We know that because we witnessed it a time or two. Brenda was born in New Hebron, MS on April 6, 1937 to Maxi Philip & Mary Levonia Cox.
