Klus, Chester Paul

Peacefully surrounded by his family on December 26, 2019, Chester Klus died in his 98th year. Beloved husband of the late Sophie Klus (nee Stodolak). Loving father of Paul, Stephen, Donald (Sandra McIlwraith), and Cynthia. Dear Dziadzio of Marley, Sadie, and Griffin. Survived by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his brothers and sisters Benny, Lillian, John, Mike, and Orla. Chester was a decorated Canadian Military Veteran (Lincoln and Welland Regiment) of WWII and a POW. He was one of the founding members of the Hamilton Stroke Recovery Association, a member of the Knights of Columbus and a long time parishioner of St. Margaret Mary Parish and St. Stanislaus Church. Chester was born in Poland and emigrated with his parents and settled in Waterford where he worked the family farm. He later left the farm to become an entrepreneur and a manager of the LCBO in his later years. He will be lovingly remembered by all who knew him. Visitation will be held at P.X. DERMODY FUNERAL HOME, 796 Upper Gage Ave, on Thursday, January 2nd from 6-9pm and Friday, January 3rd from 6-9pm. Prayers will be said on Friday at 8:30 pm. A Funeral Mass will be offered at St. Margaret Mary Parish on Saturday, January 4th at 10:30am. Burial to take place at Holy Sephuchre Cemetery.
