Obituary for Joyce Frances Helton (Mustachia)

Joyce Mustachia Helton was born on April 9, 1931 in Houston Texas to Collie and Caroline Mustachia. The youngest of seven children she was the baby, and adored by all of her siblings. She later married and moved to Oklahoma City where she ran a successful business with her late husband and son. Her passion was gardening and antiques. She felt the most at peace and happy when she was in her flower gardens. She loved her family dearly and was a friend to many. She would tell anyone her son Chris was her everything in this life, and would brag about how well he took care of her. She never met a stranger, and although she would say she liked to be alone, once she was out and with her friends she was in her element and loved talking to anyone who would wander her way around the coffee pot at Saint Ann’s Retirement Center. She is preceded in death by her parents Collie and Caroline Mustachia; her brothers Nick Mustachia, Collie Mustachia and Jack Mustachia; and her sisters Josephine Conley and Ann Martinez. She is survived by her son Chris Manahan and wife Laura of Oklahoma City; her grandson Tyler Manahan and wife Kathy of Edmond Oklahoma; her great granddaughter Zoey Manahan also of Edmond and soon to be born 2nd great grandbaby Manahan; her brother Frank Mustachia of Houston, Texas; niece Judy Pierce of Houston, Texas; nephew Jim Conley of Houston, Texas along with many other family members in the Houston area. She was a spunky, full of life lady and she will be dearly missed by all who were blessed to know her. Memorial services will be held at Saint Ann’s Retirement Center Chapel, 7501 W. Britton Rd., 1:00 p.m., Monday, December 30, 2019. Private family interment will be Resurrection Memorial Cemetery.
