Obituary for Sarah Elizabeth Rucker (Zimmerman)
Sarah Elizabeth Rucker, 101, of Alma, AR formerly of Gravette, AR passed away Saturday, December 14, 2019 surrounded by her family. She was a retired English and Literature Professor for Western Carolina University in Cullowhee, NC, and later taught English at Gravette High School. She was born January 27, 1918 in Alva, OK to the late Mark Francis and Pearl (Keys) Zimmerman. She was preceded in death by her husband, John C. Rucker.
Graveside service will be 2:00 P.M. Thursday, December 19, 2019 at Bethel Cemetery in Gravette, AR under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home of Alma.
Survivors include two sons, J.C. Rucker and wife Juanita of Rudy, AR and Steve Rucker and wife Emily of Alma, AR; three grandchildren, Kimberly Rucker of Fort Smith, AR, Chapen Rucker (Lyndsay) of Alma, AR and Whitney Ware (John) of Alma, AR and four great granddaughters.
The family would like to express their gratitude to the Alma Healthcare and Rehab for their loving kindness and support.
The family will visit with friends from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. Wednesday evening, December 18, 2019 at Ocker Funeral Home of Alma, 917 Hwy. 64 East, Alma, AR.
