Mary Elizabeth Thienes, 88, of Fort Smith, Arkansas passed away on Saturday, October 5, 2019 in a Fort Smith hospital. She was born on June 7, 1931 in Fort Smith, Arkansas to Theodore and Margaret (Schnitzer) Thienes. She was retired from the transportation department at Fort Chaffee. Mary was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church.
Funeral Mass is 1:00PM, Tuesday, October 8, 2019 at St. Boniface Catholic Church with burial in Calvary Cemetery under the direction of Ocker-Putman Funeral Home of Fort Smith.
Rosary is 6:00 PM, Monday, October 7, 2019 at Mercy Crest in Barling, AR.
She is survived by her sister, Kathryn Bastian and her husband Don of McKinney, TX; three nephews, Steve Vicary and his wife Betsy of Fort Smith, Terry Bastian of McKinney, TX and Ted Bastian and his wife Diana of Roanoke, VA and two nieces Susan Ciciora and her husband Paul of White Sulphur Springs, VA. and Jennifer Wandell.
Pallbearers are Joe Udouj, Chase and Matt Vicary, Kyle Martin and Will and Wyatt Robinson.
