Charlie attended Menard Memorial High School where he enjoyed playing sports throughout his high school years. Charlie, along with his father and his brother, owned Boeta’s Grocery Store in Alexandria for over 40 years. Being proud of his Italian heritage, he was an active member of the Amerita Club of Alexandria where he helped cook for many club events, enjoyed the tradition of St. Joseph Day celebrations, played Bocce, and was a seasoned bowler on their club bowling team. He was a man of great Catholic Faith serving as an Usher at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church for many, many years.

Charlie Boeta never met a stranger. He was very friendly, outgoing, had a unique sense of humor, cherished his friends and extended family, and enjoyed watching football, especially his beloved New Orleans Saints, LSU Tigers, and Notre Dame. He was a very humble man and exemplified total devotion to his family even stepping in as a second father to his nieces and nephew. Charlie will forever be loved and missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by his nephew, Steve Boeta, Jr. (Kimberly), nieces Mary Rose Costello (Mark), Catherine Ann DeSoto (Donald) and Tina Marie Brister (Terry), great nephews Chris, Nicholas, Dustin, Dwayne, Austin, and great nieces Mia and Brittany.

The Boeta family sends special thanks to our friend Mr. Richard Crooks and our cousin Mr. Sammy Farace for always being there for our dear Uncle Charlie.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the charities closest to his heart- St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital or Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church & School.
