Obituary for Geneva Mae Bradley (Hopp)

Geneva Mae Bradley of Marietta passed away Friday, July 5, 2019, at her home. She was born February 22, 1930, a daughter of the late Fred and Mabel Hopp.

Geneva, known all her life as “Pete”, graduated from Lowell High School in 1948. She had worked at Montgomery Wards and at the Wash. Co. Court House. She enjoyed reading, playing cards, crocheting, sewing and crafts of all kinds. Later, she learned tole painting on wood crafts made by her husband, especially Santa figures, which they sold and gifted others. The two of them loved to dance and joined a circle of friends weekly for round and square dancing.

She is survived by her husband of 32 years, Jim Bradley; sons Jim Hughes (Vicki), Cheyenne, WY and Rod Hughes, Berlin, Germany; grandsons Troy Hughes and Jeremy Hughes; 2 great-grandsons; step-children Tim Bradley (Debbie), Dexter City, and Laura Bradley, Marietta; sister, Marlene Lumbatis (Dennis), Marietta; many nieces and nephews; special friends Sandy and Bob Withrow, Florida, and Jackie and John Hlubb, Lowell.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, James Hughes; sisters Jenny Luton and Jackie Schulte; brother Rick Hopp; sister-in-law Maxine Hopp.

The family would like to thank Marietta Hospice for their care and compassion during her last days.

According to her wishes, she was cremated and there will be a graveside service in Putnam Cemetery on Thursday, July 18, 2019 at 11:00 am.
