Obituary for Thomas Allan Ritter

Thomas (Tom) Allan Ritter, 75, of Winchester, VA, died Wednesday, May 22, 2019 at Evergreen Nursing Home.
He was born July 2, 1943 in Washington, D.C., the son of Hervin M. and Ardith M. Ritter.
In his early years in Falls Church, VA he was an All Star Baseball Player. He was known for his quick wit and love of sweets.

Tom was the owner of Ritter Construction Company for over 40 years. He built and remodeled custom homes throughout Fairfax and Loudoun County, building many of the homes his children grew up in. Never wanting to fully retire, his passion for work kept him active up until a brief illness before his passing. He had a love of Harley Davidson Motorcycles and was an incredible Civil War History Buff.

Tom married Sally Anne Ritter September 19, 1964 in McLean, VA. Tom and Sally loved being with each other and were rarely apart. Together they traveled across the US several times and overseas to Germany, Austria, Italy, and Australia.

Along with his wife Sally, he is survived by four children: Tracy Wenger (John Pendergast) of Linden, VA, Amy Longosky (Henry) of Paeonian Springs, VA, Meg Ritter of Boulder, CO, Tommy Ritter (Allison) of Winchester, and one sister, Susan Bledsoe of Manassas, VA., seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by a brother, Larry Ritter.

The family will have a Celebration of His Life at Sherando Park on June 2, 2019 at 2pm, at the Ruritan Shelter
