Obituary for Arnetta Smith (Reed)

Arnetta Smith, 88, was born August 22, 1930, to Willana Reed and George Dow in Pricedale, PA. She departed this life May 20, 2019. Arnetta was one of two children. Arnetta confessed Christ at an early age at Macedonia Baptist Church in Wheeling, West Virginia.

Arnetta was a Member of Calvary Baptist Church. Later she united with Peoples Baptist Church, and was most recently a member of Northwestern Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Willie Knighten. She was a member of the Mother Board at Northwestern Baptist Church. She was also a member of O.E.S. Rachel Chapter #14.

She was employed at the GM Powertrain for twenty six years, retiring from the plant in 1993.

She loved to dress and was known for her fabulous hats. Arnetta was a beautiful lady with a contagious smile. She was a devoted wife and mother and she loved her grandchildren.

Arnetta was preceded in death by her husband, William Cecil Smith; her daughter, Maralene Y. McBrayer; grandsons, James McBrayer III and Willis Mondale Cox.

She leaves to cherish her memories, sons, Cecil Cornel (Carolyn) Smith, Terence R. (Agnes) Smith, Atlanta, GA; daughter, Sharon C. Cox; grandson, Terence L. Smith and granddaughter, Cicely A. Smith, Aldie, VA; brother, George A. (Willa Mae) Saunders; cousins, Bettye Stull and Cora Wilson; a host of nieces, nephews and friends; special friends, Alberta Wright, Eunice Brown and Ethel Mitchell.
