Obituary for Cameron S. Kosman

Cameron Slade Kosman, 21, of Wailuku, HI passed away from the results of a motorcycle accident on April 28, 2019, in Hawaii. Cameron was born January 3, 1998, in Buffalo, NY. Cameron attended local schools in Windsor Locks and was a graduate of Windsor Locks High School, Class of 2016. One of Cameron’s proudest accomplishments was his graduation from the United States Navy Recruit Training Command (RTC) in Great Lakes,Il. Cameron will be remembered as an adorable happy boy with chubby cheeks who loved matchbox cars, dinosaurs, building LEGOS, and playing video games. He loved to be outside in nature whether he was collecting bugs, riding his bike, rock climbing with his Dad or playing or fishing in the ocean. He was a proud big brother and loved taking care of and looking after his siblings. As he got older he would pass on bits of wisdom to them and he would even offer advice and tips on things to look out for. Cameron had a love for photography and had recently took up spear fishing. He always had a strong desire to explore the world. Enlisting in the Navy seemed like an amazing opportunity for him to be able to serve others and travel the world. His time in the Navy offered experiences and friendships that left an everlasting mark on him. When Cameron’s journey brought him to Hawaii he knew he found a paradise that he would call home. He quickly made friends and began building a wonderful adventurous life on the island. He would often video chat us to show us how beautiful everything was. His neverending supply of energy, kindheartedness, and positive nature since childhood served him well in Hawaii. Whether he was working two jobs, scuba diving, cliff jumping, exploring the island on his motorcycle or enjoying the beach with friends he was always up to something fun. He came home this past Christmas to surprise all of us. We are all so thankful to have been able to celebrate with him and to celebrate his 21st birthday. Cameron had many ups and downs during his short time here but he never gave up. He was a fighter and he fought his way all the way to paradise. He was happy and proud of himself. He was living his dream. We will carry him in our heart FOREVER. Cameron is survived by his father, Brian Kosman and his wife, Nadine of Windsor Locks (Nadine’s mother, Brigitte Murzin); Jennifer Welles (who played an integral role in Cameron’s life and upbringing) and her husband Tate of Suffield (Jennifer’s parents, Gary and Eileen); his siblings, Mallory Kosman, Kevin Kosman, Lily Johnson, Olivia Welles, and Noah Welles; his paternal grandparents, Ronald Kosman and his wife, Josephine of Suffield; his birth mother, Morgan Steele of NY and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins (that all played an important role in raising Cameron) and friends. " Don't be afraid of death. Be afraid of non-lived life. You don't have to live forever, you just have to live"- Cameron.
