Obituary for Ira Kilman Jr.

Ira Junior Killman, 74, of Kilmarnock passed away March 12, 2019. He was pre-deceased by his father, Ira William Killman, mother and stepfather, Etta Mazie and Samuel Pfister, his sisters, Barbara Hall, Irene Pitman, and Joyce Walker , and his brother Jack Killman. He is survived by his sisters, Tammy Pfister and Carolyn Harcum and his brother Stanley W Killman.

He served in the US Air Force and spent his life in the Northern Neck. As a young man, he worked for many years at Windmill Point Resort where he demonstrated his multiple talents. He worked on the docks greeting guests as they arrived by boat and later became dockmaster. He might also be found painting, arranging furniture, decorating, carpentry, etc. He later became assistant manager. He operated a popular restaurant, IRA’S, in White Stone and was known throughout his life for his culinary skills. He was also widely known for his creative, home renovations and repairs. He had a generous spirit and was always willing to go the extra mile to help out family, friends, and others.

Interment will be private and a celebration of his life will take place March 30, 2019 at
2 pm at Currie Funeral Home Kilmarnock, Va.
