Dennis Harold Burke, Sr, was born in Henryetta, Oklahoma, on June 30, 1939, to Patrick and Eunice Burke. As a photographer, Dennis served nine and a half years active duty in the US Navy and eleven and a half years in the Air Force Reserve. Though he also worked twenty two years with Proctor and Gamble, his passion was photography. He photographed weddings, reunions, flowers, and especially his grandchildren. He loved his babies.
Dennis passed from this earth on February 19, 2019, in Decatur, Mississippi. He was preceded in death by his parents, his former wife, Betty Lavaun, who passed away twelve years ago, and brother, Jimmy. He is survived by his wife, Faye, his sisters, Patricia Payton, Carol Dow, and Linda Stanton; his children,both his daughter, Dena Boyes and husband, Stephen, and son, Dennis (Bud) and wife, Tina; his grandchildren, Courtney Smith and husband, Austin, Caleb Williams and wife, Heather, Abby Williams, Bethany Burke and Spencer Burke; as well as eight great grandchildren. He is survived by Faye’s children, Steven Thomas, Alana Bradley, Clayton Thomas, and Stephani Irwin and husband, Calvin; her grandchildren Sharon, Kaitlyn, and many other grandchildren and great grandchildren.
