Raymond Roy McCown went to his Heavenly home on February 18, 2019 at the age of 97. He was born on March 3, 1921 in Berlin, Oklahoma to his parents, Robert Roy and Leona (Mabra) McCown. Raymond honorably served his country as a member of the US Army’s 45th Division during WW II. He was awarded for valor under enemy fire the third highest medal given by the United States of America, the Silver Star Medal. In 1941, he married his one true love, Eva Marie Koch and together shared more than 65 wonderful years of marriage and raising a family until her passing on October 18, 2006. He provided a loving home for his family by working as a machinist for Tinker Air Force Base and was a longtime member of Hillcrest Christian Church. Raymond served as commander of the Disabled American Veterans Chapter #85 here in Oklahoma City for many years. He and the DAV Chapter #85 traveled locally all over the State of Oklahoma to provide Military Honors for literally hundreds of Veterans that had passed on before them. Every veteran was special to Raymond. Raymond had a passion for giving back to all veterans and providing them with the Military Honors they deserved. In his spare time, Raymond also enjoyed hobbies such as gardening and woodworking, but nothing was as important to Raymond as spending time with his family whom he loved with all of his heart. Raymond will be deeply missed and fondly remembered each day.

He was preceded in death by his:
• Parents Robert and Leona
