Obituary for Stanley H. Burt Sr.

Stanley H. Burt, Sr. was born in Langdale, Alabama on July 26, 1950 to Gladys Harris and Lionel Burt. He transitioned this life on Sunday, February 17, 2019 surrounded by his wife and children.

Stan graduated from Macomber Vocational School. After graduating he started working at Ohio Bell later known as AT&T and retired after 45 years of service in 2009. Stan was also a professional photographer specializing in weddings and models. Stan earned a Black Belt in Karate. Stan had a love for fast cars he owned an “original Night Rider” Trans Am with the gold bird on the hood and at least 3 Nissan Z’s. He also collected Star Trek memorabilia and miniature bottles of alcohol.

Stan confessed his faith in Christ at an early age and was a member of Pinewood Tabernacle. Later in life he met and married Patricia Thomas and began attending Friendship Baptist Church where they were married. He was preceded in death by his grandmother who raised him, Mary Griffin, his parents, brother Bill, sisters Gwendolyn and Ann, grandson Ajane, and brother in law Daniel Thomas.

He leaves to cherish his memories wife of 31 years, Patricia; sons Stanley L. (Christy) Burt II and Aaron Hayes Sr. daughters Chantel (Paul) Henry, Angela, Krystal, and Tristan Burt; grandchildren Miracle, Harmony, Zander, Isaiah, Brooklyn, Aaron Jr., Selah, Jericho, Lydia, Nathaniel, Brittany, David, and Tri’Mel; three great grandchildren; brothers Billy Wayne, Vincent (Arlene), Allen, Kenneth (Angela) and Keith Fell; sister Regina Gainey; mother in law Irma Thomas, brothers in law Ernest, Bruce (Lisa) Thomas, sister in law Kimberly Thomas; best friends Milton (Marie) Porter, Thomas (Debbie) Armstrong Jr., and Glenn (Pamela) Frames and a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
