Obituary for Florence M. "Cookie" Rice
Florence M. (Cookie) Rice, 75, of West Pittsburg, passed away the afternoon of February 9, 2019 at UPMC Jameson.
Born in New Castle on September 2, 1943, Florence was the daughter of Albert P., Sr. and Josephine Macchiarelli Dudich. Surviving at home is her loving husband of fifty five years, Terence Rice, whom she married on January 9, 1964.
Florence was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Parish. She enjoyed playing bingo, visiting casinos and was an avid Pittsburgh Steeler’s fan. Florence was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother who cherished the times she spent with her family, especially her grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, Florence is survived by her three children, Donald Rice and his wife Debra, of Pittsburgh, Terence Rice, Jr. and his wife Elizabeth and Robert (Himer) Rice and his wife Tammy, both of West Pittsburg; brother, Albert P. Dudich, Jr. of Tampa, FL, sister, Vicky Brown of West Pittsburg, eight grandchildren, Delaney Rice, Bryanna Rice, Alexis Rice, Terence Rice III, Allison Tilton and husband, Jordan DeBona, Jared DeBona and wife, Adam Brown and one great grandchild, Ajax Tilton.
She is preceded in death by her parents, sister, Mary Ann Rosati and granddaughter, Emily Brown.
Visitation is Tuesday from 4:00PM to 7:00PM at the Ed and Don DeCarbo Funeral Home and Crematory 941 S. Mill St. A Blessing Service will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday at 10:00AM officiated by Deacon John Carran.
Burial will take place at St. Vitus Cemetery.
