Obituary for Edward Hobbs

Edward Hobbs was born in Atlanta, GA on April 6, 1935 and fulfilled his earthly assignment on January 27, 2019. He grew up in Macon, GA as the only son of Ina Letson and Willie Moore who preceded him in death and are now reunited eternally.

Edward proudly served his country in the United States Air Force as Ground Radar Support and retired honorably as a MSGT after 20 years of service. He started a new career in Toledo, OH with Toledo Scale as a Regional Service Manager and enjoyed attending the Indy 500 yearly with his son and a trusted colleague and friend from work. Ed also loved fishing, a hobby he learned from his dad and uncle, and was fascinated by trains, a good jazz tune, westerns and rooting for his favorite sports teams, The Ohio State Buckeyes, Cleveland Indians and the Browns!

As a faithful member of Our Lady of Lourdes Parish, Ed served on the usher board and was the assistant manager of BINGO. He was active in Mustard Seed and Ministry Formation and held the prestigious honor as Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus.

Edward is survived by his lovely wife of 57 years and full-time caregiver Marjorie Hobbs, children Tara, Edward Tyrone (Beverly), Melanie, Samantha Jones and special nieces Jeannene and Chelsea Hill; Grand kids Brian Moody, Keith Hobbs, Ambrosia Trout, Aaniyah Trout, Appl Jones, great grandson Marion Michael Warren-Trout; great grand nephew Todd Jr. and many cousins, in-laws and friends.

In peace I will lie down and sleep, for you alone, Lord, make me dwell in safety. (Psalm 4:8 NIV)
