Obituary for Florence A. Clingensmith
Florence A. Clingensmith, 88, of Shenango Township, passed away the morning of January 25, 2019 at Edison Manor.
Born on June 14, 1930 in New Castle, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Anna DiCaprio Searfoss. On April 28, 1949 she married her beloved husband, David G. Clingensmith, Sr. who preceded her in death on April 21, 2008.
Florence, as an owner of Clingensmith Video worked there until her retirement. Florence was a member of the former People's Christian Missionary Alliance Church.
Florence enjoyed cooking and baking. She was a loving and caring wife, mother and grandmother and her greatest joy was spending time with her family.
Florence is survived by her children, Jeanette and her husband Dr. Robert Simmons of Fountain Hills, AZ, David Clingensmith, Jr. of New Castle, James R. Clingensmith of New Castle, ten grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, Florence was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Allena Clingensmith, daughter-in-law, Valerie Clingensmith, two brothers, Edward and George Searfoss and her sister, Theresa Klingensmith,
Visitation will be on Wednesday 11:00a.m. to 1:00p.m. at the Ed and Don DeCarbo Funeral Home and Crematory 941 S. Mill St.
A service will be held at 1:00pm on Wednesday at the funeral home. Rev. Dr. Robert Simmons, son-in-law of Florence, will officiate.
Interment will be in Graceland Cemetery.
