Obituary for Elizabeth Lewis

Mrs. Elizabeth Lewis, 83 passed away December 18, 2018. She was born to the union of Oscar and Laura (Claiborne) Cooper on September 10, 1935.

She was a retiree of the Toledo Mental Health Center and loved being around her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Elizabeth also loved her plants and flowers with her front porch being a testament. She was an artsy/crafty type who enjoyed crocheting, sewing and painting. She was a caring and compassionate person who cared for the elderly in their homes. She also was an advocate for the elderly by being a member of the Retired Senior Volunteer Patrol (RSVP). She volunteered at the Stranahan Theater as well. She was a current member of the Mt. Pilgrim Missionary Society.

She was preceded in death recently by her son, Tyrone Cooper, who resided in Tacoma, Washington.

Elizabeth was the last surviving child and was predeceased by brothers: Joseph, Johnny, Elijah, Jerry, and Oscar Cooper, Jr.; sister: Hilda Harris.

Elizabeth is survived by daughter, Angela Williams; five grandchildren: LaTrice Smith, Joseph White II, Delvin Cooper, Boss Brown, and Patrick Cooper, and numerous other family and friends.
