Obituary for Margaret Forrester Ransone (Forrester)
Margaret Downing Forrester Ransone, 90, of Kilmarnock, Virginia died November 16, 2018.
Mrs. Ransone was preceded in death by her parents, Ivis Lee Forrester and Cora Revere Forrester; her husband, Ralph Henry Chilton Ransone and her siblings, Leonard, Robert, Catherine, Roland, Elizabeth, Grafton, Nancy and Garland.
She is survived by two sons and their families, Malcom Ransone and wife, Anna of White Stone, their children, Margaret M. of White Stone, Va., Andrew T. of Weems, Va. and Laura C. of Arlington, Va.; Ralph "Rannie" Ransone and wife, Theresa of Irvington, Va. and their daughter, Emory Ryan and husband, Mike of Arlington, Va. .
Mrs. Ransone was graduated from Longwood University and taught Home Economics in the Lancaster County School System for over 46 years. She had great pride in her students careers and their success.
Mrs. Ransone was a lifetime member of Delta Kappa, and a former sponsor of the Lancaster Chapter of the Young Homemakers of Virginia. She was also an active member of Kilmarnock Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p. m. Sunday, November 18, 2018 at Kilmarnock Baptist Church, Kilmarnock, Va. Interment will follow the service at St Mary's Whitechapel Episcopal Church Cemetery, Lively, Va. Family will receive friends 5:00 -7:00 p. m. Saturday, November 17, 2018 at Currie Funeral Home, Kilmarnock, Va.
Pallbearers will be Cameron Forrester, Gene Forrester, Ronnie Forrester, Ed Cockrell, LeRoy Ransone, Artie Ransone, Wilfred Miller, Charles Dixon, Andy Ransone and Cecil Ransone. Honorary pallbearers will be Ray Forrester, Lester Brent, Jimmy Jackson and Charles Wiggs.
