God called Assunta peacefully on June 23, 2017 at the age 82. Assunta is predeceased by her loving husband, Gaetano. Cherished by her dear children, Rose (Leo Abbatangelo), Pat (Mary) and Mike (Angie). Proud grandmother to Joseph (Angela), Robert (Marise), Gianluca, Tiziana, Nicolas and Matteo. Adoring great grandmother to Jessica, Alessandra, Valentina, Emma and Mia. Assunta will always be remembered by her sisters Rosa (late Santo Ricco) and Nardina (late John Chiaramonte) and by her sister in law Rosa (late Vincenzo De Lio) and brother in law Joe Faratro (late Emma). She will be held dear in the hearts of her family, relatives, and many friends. Visitations will take place at the Vescio Funeral Home Woodbridge Chapel (8101 Weston Rd. 905-850-3332) on Sunday June 25, 2016 from 2-4 & 6-9 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday June 26, 2017 at 9:30 a.m. at St. David’s Roman Catholic Church (2601 Major MacKenzie Dr., east of Jane St.). Entombment to follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery (west of Yonge St., and Hwy 401). If so desired, donations in memory of Assunta may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
