It is with saddened hearts that we announce the passing of John Sr. "Duke" Van Goethem, in his 65th year, on Saturday, January 19, 2019. Loving husband of Carol of 47 years, father to John (Rachelle), Chris (Crystal); brother to Robert (Leda), the late Richard (Carol), Jeannette (Martin), Rosemary (Joe) and predeceased by his parents Isaac and Laura. Grandfather to Paige, Nicholas, Jaxson and Mackenzie. John "Duke" is also survived by many other family members and friends that he also held dear to his heart. Duke will be missed immensely but we know he will be taken care of by other Angel's he has joined. Visitation at STONEHOUSE-WHITCOMB FUNERAL HOME, 11 Mountain Street, GRIMSBY (905-945-2755) on Tuesday, January 22, 2019 from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. Cremation to follow. If desired, memorial contributions to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be sincerely appreciated by the family.
