Obituary for John E. Reese

John E.  Reese
John E. Reese, 90, of Enfield, beloved husband of the late Elizabeth H. (Watton) Reese, died peacefully on Monday, June 16, 2008 surrounded by his loving family. Born in Pen Argyl, Pennsylvania on March 11, 1918, John was the son of the late Arthur and Anna (Sparks) Reese. John had lived most of his life in Enfield and was a communicant of St. Bernard Church. John proudly served his country during WW II with the United States Army Air Corps and was the recipient of the WW II Victory Medal, Distinguished Unit Badge, American Defense Medal, Good Conduct Medal and the Asiatic-Pacific Theatre Campaign Ribbon with two Bronze Stars. John was employed with Hamilton Standard for ten years and had retired from Springborn Labs after eighteen years of service. In his leisure time, John enjoyed woodworking, building and repairing clocks as well as bowling. John truly loved his family and friends and enjoyed making them laugh and smile. A loving father, grandfather, great grandfather and great great grandfather, John is survived by his children: Patricia A. Muir and her husband, Howard of Portland, TN, Marjorie J. Carson and her husband, Gary of Enfield, CT, Glenn A. Reese and his wife Susan of Enfield, CT, Robin M. Pinsonnault of Springfield, MA and Christopher J. Reese and his wife, Jerri of Cheshire, CT; his grandchildren, John Michael, John Matthew, Leian, Naomi, Meghan Lorene, Lindsey, Sean, Kate, Samantha, Mary, Tim, Evan, Collette, Noelle, Tyler, Spencer, Adam, Liz and Meghan Lynn; several great grandchildren and a great great granddaughter. He was predeceased by a son John Michael Reese, his daughter, Sandra Nowak and his brother Sparks Reese. Family and friends will gather on Saturday, June 21, 2008 by 10:15 a.m. at Leete-Stevens Enfield Chapels, for a procession to St. Bernard Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. followed by burial with Military Honors at St. Patrick King Street Cemetery. John’s family will receive relatives and friends on Friday, June 20, 2008 from 4:00 to 8:00 at Leete-Stevens Enfield Chapels, 61 South Road, Enfield, CT 06082.
