Philip D. Olivieri, 72, of Somers, passed away peacefully at his daughter’s home on Friday, December 16, 2005, with his loving family at his side. Born on November 20, 1933 in New Haven, he was the son of the late Giovanni and Ersilia (Barchiesi) Olivieri. Philip had a very special companion, his dog "Murphy” that was a part of his life. A loving father, brother, grandfather, and great-grandfather, Philip is survived by his son Philip D. Olivieri and his wife Karen of Rangeley, ME, his daughters Cynthia J. Jevons and her husband Dean of Somers, Denise M. Olivieri of East Windsor, brothers Armond Olivieri, Mario Olivieri, and John Olivieri of West Haven, Ernest Olivieri of Mexico, sisters Dina Travaglini and Pauline Avallone of West Haven; six grandchildren: Nicole Merrill, Nathan LaPlant, Joshua Archer, Lindsey O’Neill, Danielle O’Neill, Samantha Olivieri, and a great-grandchild JJ Merrill. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, December 20, 2005 at 5:00 pm at Leete-Stevens Enfield Chapels, 61 South Road, Enfield. There are no visitation hours and burial will be in Saint Lawrence Cemetery in West Haven at a later date.
